The Vivid Pink Diamond To Go Up For Auction
Posted by zeeshan khan at 7:39 AM 0 commentsThis bubblegum pink stone up for sale in Christie's Hong Kong in December isn't just a fancy vivid pink diamond, it is known as 'The Vivid Pink' an expression of its exceptional color. The stone, which has been set in a ring by Graff, comes from a private collection. It is estimated to sell for $5 million to $7 million at the auction on December 1. The stone weighs a neat 5.00 carats and Christie's says it is the largest Fancy Vivid Pink Potentially Flawless diamond to ever be offered for sale at auction. 'The Vivid Pink' is particularly prized because it shows no trace of any secondary color for a truly deep saturated pink shade rarely seen in diamonds. Only one in one hundred thousand diamonds has a color deep enough to qualify as 'Fancy.' In advance of the sale the diamond will be going on a display tour in New York, Singapore, Bangkok, Geneva and Taipei starting in October.
Graff Superstar Diamonds Lady's Watch
Posted by zeeshan khan at 7:34 AM 0 commentsThere are diamond watches, and then there are diamond watches like this. Graff metaphorically knocks on the door of luxury with a resounding "bling bling!" arrival announcement. You simply don't get too much more "diamond watch" than this timepiece figuratively held hostage by the precious stones. The case and bracelet (what little of it is actually metal!) is done in 18k white gold while a dizzying collection of 176 diamonds on the case and another 94 diamonds on the bracelet that crowd the design of the watch like a bunch of too many densely packed wealthy neighbors. The entire watch has 59 carats of pure glitzy glory.
Likewise the timepiece is known as the Superstar, or GraffSuperstar. Whatever the title, this watch is is certainly a statement about the woman wearing it. However that statement might be "I enjoy rubies and emeralds in my breakfast cereal." Sorry gentlemen, we will have to settle for a less diamond studded version. Stones on the Superstar watch are in trilliant and trapeze cuts that gives a very modern and angular shape that is also quite cohesive. Round cut stones make for good decor, but these more angular cuts allow for a more tiled look that enhances the "total diamond watch" style that Graff is going for. My instincts tell me that the movement inside the watch is Swiss quartz. The dial of the watch is no testament to legibility, but should be readable - a nice trapeze cut emerald is the only non-diamond stone of the bunch and serves as the 12 o'clock marker. Not the type of watch you want to wear publicly in certain parts of the world, cost to likely be tantamount to purchase of said parts of the world.
Wedding Ring
Posted by zeeshan khan at 7:30 AM 0 commentsCaptivating all the way from its gorgeous 1.17 carat diamond to the spectacular hand-crafted platinum mount, the jeweler’s motif is a circular diamond within a square setting. Brilliance and fire emanate from the central stone with G-H color and clarity of VS2. Against the platinum setting the diamond scintillates as it takes on the colors of a prism. Accent diamonds aplenty, six (6) to be exact—a duet for each shoulder, a single on the north face and another on the south. Although accent diamonds tend to be a simpler single cut, these sparkling gems are a full old European cut of approximately .04 carats each. The total estimate diamond weight comes to 1.41 carats.
An engagement ring is the ring that is given to a person when you either propose to them, or they propose to you. No matter what order it happens in, this is what happens. Usually the man would propose to the woman, but that does not mean a woman is incapable of proposing to a man by any stretch of the imagination. Usually it is just the woman that wears the engagement right, but it’s possible that both of them will decide to wear it as a sign to the world that they have made plans to be wed.
Ring Symbolize
An engagement ring is a replacement for a promise ring. A promise ring means that there is a chance of a future together, and when it is replaced with an engagement ring the promise is set in stone. It tells the world that you are no longer available and that you have made a commitment to someone else. It also displays how serious you actually are about the changes that are about to take place in both your life, and the life of the person that you have made the promise to.
Between a Wedding Ring and an Engagement Ring
The big difference between the engagement ring and the wedding ring is the fact that an engagement ring signifies an intent to get married, but does not show an actual marriage. You might have set a date, you might not, but it does show that you plan on it. If you have a wedding ring then you have already been married and are starting out on your new life.
How Do You Wear An Engagement Ring?
As stated on Which Finger Does One Wear An Engagement Ring On?: When you are engaged you would put the engagement ring on your right finger. After the wedding though the engagement ring is moved to the left hand. Some cultures have different variations of this, but within the United States the engagement ring is worn on the right hand, then moved to the left after the wedding.
A different tradition is to have the engagement ring is placed on the left ring finger. When the wedding takes place, the engagement ring is then moved to the right ring finger and the wedding band is placed on the left ring finger. Alternately, some people choose to wear both rings on their left hand after marriage.
As you can tell, traditions have been changing so do what you are comfortable with. The consistent point is after marriage, the wedding ring is on the left hand.
What Should You Do If You Are Disappointed in Your Engagement Ring?
You may have been expecting diamonds in your engagement ring, but what if your partner chooses not to buy diamonds? Does this mean he loves you any less? Absolutely not. If you didn’t get diamonds just take a look at the ring. It may be just as beautiful as any other ring that has diamonds, and if you give it a chance you may even learn to love it. Not every ring has to have diamonds, and not every ring is defined by the diamonds that come with it. There are many stones that are just as beautiful, so if you are wanting diamonds, you need to remind yourself that it is just a stone, and the bond that the ring signifies is what is important.
That said, if after a while of trying to love the ring and finding you really can not appreciate your ring, talk to your beloved. Ask him why he chose this particular ring. Sometimes understanding the money restraints, the practicality, or the desire for starting your new life without debt can help you learn to truly open your heart.
